RIBBON CARDS

Okay, so you thought that ribbon was only for wrapping gifts and making bows? Well, guess again because you can make the most unusual and fantastic handmade greeting cards with ribbon. Let's see how.

Most ribbon cards are made with cotton cloth ribbon but polyester ribbon is just as good. They are available in hundreds of patterns and designs to enhance any ribbon card. They also come in different widths that only your imagination can provide the uses for. The key to choosing what ribbon to use is decided by what rubber stamps you want to use and the occassion. Most often when you see the ribbon you can visualize not only the rubber stamp that you have but the layout of the ribbon card as well.

The ribbons can be purchased by the yard or by the roll. You can decide whether it is a one time only use or if there are many ribbon cards on the horizon. Your supplies are quite simple; rubber stamps, cardstock, inks, glue and naturally ribbon.

Let's get started. Choose the appropriate rubber stamp and stamp and color the image. Now lay the ribbon over the cardstock in whatever layout or design you choose. Place the image in the appropriate place and leave spacing for the words. When this is accomplished, glue the ribbon onto the card followed by the image and then the words.
TIP: I LIKE TO USE GLUE STICKS BECAUSSE THEY ADHERE TO THE RIBBON BEST.  BUT EXPERIMENT AND SEE WHAT WORKS BEST FOR YOU.
